The idea for Hard Shoulder was born out of a frustrating experience faced by our CEO, who waited hours for a vehicle recovery truck after a collision. This stall in services inspired us to create a solution that connects all automotive professionals and customers efficiently and effortlessly.

Anyone who needs vehicle related services, including car owners, insurance companies, car dealerships and fleets. If you own a car, or work with cars, you can use the App or Portal to book or request assistance.

Simply open the app, choose your required service and the app will use your location to connect you to the nearest service provider.

Our App supports cars, motorbikes, vans, buses and trucks. When you sign up with Hard Shoulder, you will input your vehicle details and when you need a service it will be matched with a service provider who can assist you. For example if you need a recovery of a Van, you will be matched with a recovery driver whose truck can hold the weight of the Van.

Yes, Hard Shoulder covers the entire UK, providing services wherever you are.

Payments are made securely through the App at the time of booking. You can choose from Apple Pay, Google Wallet, Klarna or by using your debit or credit card.

Yes, after your job is complete, you can rate your service provider to help us maintain quality and improve future experiences.

Arrival times depend on several factors such as your location and the availability of nearby professionals however the app will automatically connect you to the nearest available provider ensuring maximum time efficiency. You will also be saving time from manually having to search for a service provider on google and making several phone calls before you are matched with a provider.

Yes, all service providers will have the necessary insurance to cover both yourself and themselves should there be an issue whilst the service is being carried out. For example if your vehicle is being recovered and there is a collision during transport where your vehicle is damaged, the service providers specialised insurance will cover this.

You can cancel your request anytime up until the payment part of the process. If you have already made payment and then need to cancel for whatever reason, you will only receive a partial refund minus a call out/cancellation charge for the service provider's time. You will then be able to rebook at a later time that you need the service.
